オバマ大統領就任式で国歌斉唱したビヨンセ、実は口パクだった！

昨日のエントリーで紹介した米国シンガーソングライターの大御所、ビヨンセだが、２期目の就任式で歌った国歌は口パクだったことをニューヨーク・ポストが一緒に演奏した海兵隊バンドの広報部に確認した。

ビヨンセは、ライヴで国家斉唱を披露する予定だったが、あいにく当日は、風邪をひいてのどの調子が悪く、最後のラスト・ミニッツですでに録音されたトラックを演奏することに決めた。

一番盛り上がる部分でビヨンセは、まるで感情を抑えきれなくなったように、イヤフォンをはずしたが、それも、口パクだったら単なるパフォーマンスだったのだなぁとちょっぴりがっかり。

でも、風邪であれだけ大勢の聴衆の前でいきなり声がかすれたり、でなくなったりしたら、それこそ招待してくれたオバマ大統領にも聴衆にも失礼に当たるので、体調がすぐれなかったら、口パクもしょうがないかな。

下の動画によると、４年前の就任式では、チェロのヨーヨー・マ氏らが演奏したときも寒さで楽器の音程が狂う可能性が高いと判断され、実際に演奏はしたものの、会場には事前に録音した音楽をスピーカーで流していたという。

ちなみに、ビヨンセ以外の２人の歌手、ジェームス・テイラーとケリー・クラークソンは、口パクではなく実際に歌ったり、演奏したりしていたとか。

Beyonce Knowles' flawless performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” at the inauguration was entirely lip-synched, Page Six has confirmed. A rep for the United States Marine Band revealed that she decided to perform to a pre-recorded track at the last minute.

“All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day,” Kristin DuBois, a rep for the band tells Page Six. “We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don’t know what the (sic) reason why.”

The news will surely shock those who watched the emotional performance. At one point, Beyonce even dramatically removed her earpiece – which now seems even more ludicrous, as she wasn’t even making any noise.A rep for Kelly Clarkson, however, tells Page Six, "Kelly did sing live!"
And a rep for James Taylor tells Page Six, "He was playing and singing live."
Beyonce has since been spotted looking unhappy in New Orleans.
